    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    The primary purpose of this position is to manage the design, development and implementation of a defence secure standard operating environment with voice, video and collaboration into multiple deployable hardware environments as part of a larger Defence acquisition project.

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    The Services Lead  provides technical and architectural direction to a team consisting of both external consultants and permanent staff and is responsible for delivering capability that meets the customer’s requirements, project objectives, and within the assigned schedule.  

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    Manage the design, installation, configuration and integration of the IT system.

    Manage a large team of external technical consultants that are subject matter experts in Microsoft and other technologies ensuring that project requirements are met.

    Work with other project staff to develop cost and schedule estimates.

    Effectively plan, lead and monitor engineering activities so as to enable successful completion of those activities.

    Work within integrated product teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of related engineering programs (eg. Installation, Safety, Security, ILS).

    Keep abreast of technology developments and provide recommendations and advice on technology selection and R&D activities.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
    Hold Australian security clearance to NV2
    Eligible to obtain authorisation to work with ITAR controlled equipment and technology
    Occasional interstate travel may be required

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computing, Network/Communications, Electronics or other related discipline, or comparable working experience 

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

    Demonstrated technical proficiency with current ICT infrastructure and storage technologies and products
    Demonstrated technical proficiency with current Microsoft technologies, virtualisation and security products
    Demonstrated experience in managing teams of technical staff including organising, prioritising and scheduling own and team members duties to meet deadlines
    Proven abilities to provide technical leadership and guidance to the staff
    Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills 
    Excellent stakeholder management and liaison abilities 
    Proven ability to work under pressure

    We are currently looking for a Content Integrator to join the Thales Inflyt Experience team in Irvine, California.

     

    The Content Integrator works on tasks that directly provide monthly content deliverables to airline customers with Thales IFE Systems.  Overall work consists of steps that build the individual airline content sets in the Content Integration Process.  Tasks include the QA/QC of files by inspection using software tools for objective analysis, quality assessment by visual and audio evaluation of files for subjective analysis, data entry, linking of assets and assignments in the DCMS, copying of files, creation of duplicate hard-drives, use of comparative analysis software tools, rack validation, and various workflow tasks that move forward the operations to meet the monthly shipment due dates.


    Key Responsibilities: 


    • Takes direction from the Supervisor, Content Operations for daily prioritization of tasks.

    • Inputs data into the DCMS, in the form of metadata (synopses and images), as well as linking assets.

    • Reports any quality issues (video and audio) that are not matching to specifications.

    • Performs rack validation, as needed by following the Grid specifications for what should be displayed on the PAX GUI.  Any anomalies are reported.

    • Makes copies of hard-drive content for the purpose of duplication and shipping deliverables.

    •  Learns how to use the various software tools that enable content integration, Manzanita Stream Analyzer, Beyond Compare, VLC Player, MD5 Checksum tool, etc.

    • Applies the process standards of filling out the proper QA/QC checklist/router per airline, as needed for completion of tasks, and then submits to the Technician, Content Operations.

    • Watches both video and audio files, for quality inspection and reports any anomalies so that the files can be classified for re-do and rejection.

    •  Helps with all other components of the integration process, as needed based on daily priorities of the team.

    • Exhibits professional grammar, written and verbal communication skills.


    Required Skills and Experience:


    • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and  0 – 5 year related experience and/or training

    • The ideal candidate possesses the ability and attributes to work in a fast-paced environment.  

    • The know-how to ask questions, yet work independently as needed to ensure tasks assigned to them from the Technician, Content Operations are completed on-time.  

    • Must be detail oriented and organized.

    We are currently looking for a
    Senior Systems Test Engineer to join the Thales Engineering team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Senior Systems Test Engineer will Support major IFE platform upgrades by working with systems team to understand changes, flow changes to test procedures, define generic FSAT test plan, conduct FSAT1 plan, identify issues and support issue resolutions, and conduct final systems test milestone meeting to hand-off generically tested platform upgrades to customer teams.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    ·         Debug integrated software and hardware products through the use of systematic procedures to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products.

    ·         Develop, modify and execute system test plans.

    ·         Analyze, update and create test standards and procedures.

    ·         Analyze and document test results.

    ·         Support the design and deployment of automate test procedures.

    ·         Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging, modification of software and evaluation of requirements.

    ·         Identify and document test issues and supports follow up issue resolution.

    ·         Consult with development engineers in issue resolution.

    ·         Work with management to establish, maintain and continually update system test processes.

    ·         Coordinate test related milestones delivery dates and test effort status with requesting project management team and reporting manager.

    ·         Must understand system life cycle and basics of IVV.

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         BS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

    ·         7+ years of experience in IFE or related industry.

    ·         Integration, Verification and Validation experience of large systems is required.

    ·         Shell scripting or prior programming experience is required

    ·         Embedded Linux HW/SW integration experience highly desired.

    ·         Previous IFE or related experience highly desired.

    ·         Ethernet and IP networking knowledge is highly desired.

    ·         Wireless, Cellular and Satellite Communication experience is highly desired.

    Vous rejoignez l’équipe d’ingénierie pour prendre en charge  l’intégration, validation et vérification des sous-systèmes s’appuyant sur des technologies Télécom livrés dans le cadre des projets.
     
    En tant que Ingénieur IVV, vos principales missions sont de :
     
    • Prendre connaissance des besoins clients à partir des documents spécifiques au projet
    • Participer à la définition de la stratégie de tests Usine
    • Collaborer à la définition et au maintien d’environnement de test
    • Rédiger les plans et les documents de tests usines
    • Effectuer les tests et la FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) avec le client
    • Préparer les déploiements et les tests sites
    • Assurer le suivi de sous-traitances systèmes d’un point de vue définition des tests et recettes
     QUI ETES VOUS ?
     
    De formation ingénieur ou équivalent, vous avez une première expérience significative dans l’intégration, validation et vérification des tests usines.
    Vous avez des connaissances en Sécurité, et plus particulièrement en réseau et télécommunication.
