    We are currently looking for a
    Senior System Test Engineer  to join the Thales Engineering team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Senior System Test Engineer is responsible for the efficient and thorough execution of all System Verification & Validation (V&V) activities on In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems.

    The Senior System Test Engineer is the primary focal for testing activities and works with their team to ensure customer satisfaction by completion of planned test activities/tasks. She/he has deep knowledge of operating, configuring and troubleshooting IFE systems, simulators, interfaces, and is an expert in all IVV methods and practices applied at Thales IFE.  He/she is a focal expert in key test knowledge areas and takes initiative to share technical knowledge to boost team capability.  She/he provides advanced input for the creation of test plans. 

    The Senior System Test Engineer is highly familiar with the systems requirements as well as customer operational scenarios and creates high quality defect records for all defects he/she observes. Additionally he/she is responsible for the overall configuration and health of the system under test as well as maintaining a clean and organized  lab environment.

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    ·         Be the primary focal for testing activities during Verification & Validation phase.

    ·         Be a technical expert in key IFE system test knowledge areas.

    ·         Actively share technical and process knowledge across team to boost team capability.

    ·         Be responsible for the proper application of all planned testing methodologies & procedures

    ·         Adapt generic test method to specific customer configuration.

    ·         Support automated testing initiatives to customer projects.

    ·         Perform daily status reporting and additional statistical reporting when needed

    ·         Find defects as early as possible to prevent defect escapes to the customer

    ·         Create high quality defect records based on findings during the test activities. (Identification of defects, clear comprehensive description, initial assessment of severity)

    ·         Perform lab conformity by verifying lab installations / racks against specifications (SW & HW).

     

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

    ·         2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·         Knowledge of Unix /Linux/ Android systems

    ·         Knowledge of Ethernet networks

    ·         Knowledge of common defect management tools (ClearQuest / Jira)

    ·         Mid-level skill in working with office suites (Microsoft Office / Open Office)

    ·         Familiarity with Agile environment

    We are currently looking for a Principal
    Systems Architect to join the Thales Engineering team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Principal Systems Architect will be responsible for the following areas: In-Flight Entertainment & Connectivity systems specifications, design and support to integration, troubleshooting, validation & verifications. The systems design area includes systems-level requirement definitions using Scaled Agile Framework practices and tools (VersionOne, jama, Confluence, JIRA), systems architecture analysis through modeling and simulation (Exata, …) and the generation of respective documentation working with all Engineering disciplines (TeamCenter). It may include writing Statement of Work for third party suppliers and coordinating design teams and 3rd party suppliers. The job also consists in analyzing existing architectures for adding new features, services or devices.

     Key Responsibilities:

     

    1.        Plans, coordinates, and organizes phases of the project to completion; utilizes schedules to organize and understand his/her project tasks and manages them throughout the system design and verification phases.

    2.      Commits on schedule and budget constraints for the projects s/he is responsible for.

    3.       Identifies and resolves potential problems before they occur therefore minimizing the impact to schedule and cost.

    4.      Generates documentation for each respective phase.  The definition phase includes the following documentation: Systems Requirements Specification, Interface Control Documentation, Modeling and Simulation Documentation.

    5.      Exercises a high degree of initiative and independent judgment in coordinating his/her work with peer personnel within the group and external groups as well.

    6.      Provides recommendations for determining technical and long-range goals.

    7.      Manages, documents, and ensures product compliance with customer requirements.

    8.      Conducts systems design reviews and actively participates in hardware/software peer reviews.

    9.      In post-delivery support, assists with problem isolation/identific

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         BSEE or BSCS with 10 years of experience in related fields is required.

    ·         Design skills in audio, video, multimedia, secure IP networks and embedded

    ·         systems.

    ·         Programming and simulation skills.

    ·         Knowledge of audio & video streaming and IPTV technologies.

    ·         Knowledge of computer and network security, encryption standards, key

    ·         management and electronic payment technologies.

    ·         Knowledge of WAN, LAN, wireless data communications (Wi-Fi, WiMAX,

    ·         Bluetooth), cellular telephony (UMTS, CDMA, 3G, EV-DO, LTE…), satellite

    ·         communications (Inmarsat).

    • Participer au développement des logiciels pour les calculateurs de traitement radar,
    • Mettre à jour les documents de spécification et d’interface,
    • Participer à l’instruction des évolutions demandées par l’ingénierie système,
    • Corriger les faits techniques et développer les évolutions,
    • Entretenir la base de test et assurer l’intégration et la vérification des livrables,
    • Préparer et vérifier la fourniture des fichiers de configuration propres à chaque radar,
    • Assurer le support technique auprès des équipes d’intégration radar.
