Example : rugby player’s monitoring
GEONAV IoT solution may be used for Elite Sport, in order to monitor player’s position and performances.
This use case has been investigated for rugby players, in partnership with French Rugby Federation R&D department. Together, they have tested the ability of GEONAV solution to monitor players' performance and safety indoor (covered stadiums), indoor/outdoor (partially covered stadiums), and outdoor (no covered stadiums, outside training areas…) environment. For this purpose, the GEONAV device computes and transmits a set of information on the player in real-time (1 Hz frequency):
- Position and speed
- Heart frequency (by Bluetooth connection to the cardio belt)
- Battery remaining
- Impacts detection
Devices are also designed in order to respect World Rugby regulation (size, weight, resistance to impacts…).

Industry - Assets management
Example : location of high value equipment inside industrial sites
GEONAV IoT solution may be used for industry, in order to monitor equipment and tools positions inside industrial sites.
This use case has been tested for military vehicles pieces, in partnership with Nexter Systems.
NEXTER Systems uses GEONAV solution in order to precisely locate equipment, at low frequency (every 6 hours), machines and tools on their production sites and during the inter-site transits. GEONAV solution answers to their two industrial use cases:
- Production process monitoring. Precise indoor/outdoor location of equipment allows to monitor physical position of the asset in the workshop along the production chain (integration, tests, quality and shipping steps).
- Value added tooling geolocation. Some specific tools (crimping pliers, torque wrenches, power supply or tests modules…) are used on 2 production sites, 40km apart. Permanent location of these assets improves the planning and efficiency of the production, as well as Value added tools’ calibration monitoring.
This use case needs a specific autonomy management, in order to reach up to 18 months of autonomy.
Example : location of autonomous drones used for meal delivery
GEONAV IoT solution is currently being adapted to be integrated inside autonomous drones, in order to replace their current GPS chipset. Position and speed are computed in real-time and directly sent to the drone.
This use case is made in partnership with Drone Consultants Ireland (autonomous drone manufacturer) and Manna Aero (final user, which uses drones for home delivery).
