Thales is delivering deep technological capability for customers with high-stakes goals, critical missions and big ambitions. Wherever safety, security, and reliability are critical, Thales delivers.
In an unpredictable world, Thales is relied upon to make the world safer – supplying naval, air, land and joint forces, governments and enterprises with an unrivalled depth of capability, built on a foundation of secure digital innovation.
As a prime contractor and trusted partner, Thales helps the Canadian Armed Forces, Government of Canada, and Canadian critical infrastructure achieve their defence and security objectives.

Thales has long leveraged award-winning experience in project management, systems engineering, and integrated logistics to help ensure that the Canadian Armed Forces are mission-ready whenever and wherever they are needed.
Now, we’re leveraging leading edge AI-enabled solutions to take the Canadian Armed Forces to the next level of operational readiness, efficiency, and decision-making across all domains. Trusted artificial intelligence applications are playing a tangible role in Thales Canada’s In-Service Support capabilities. Leveraging cortAIx, our global AI Centre of Excellence located in Quebec, Thales Canada has established an innovation-first approach to how In-Service Support is delivered and how fleets can be managed in Canada and around the world.
We are building collaborative environments that provide real-time access to decisive information, not just data. And, we’re working with both industry – our 120 partner companies in our Technical Support Network – and academia to continue to spark innovation and skills development in areas such as predictive maintenance, life-cycle management, and logistics support analysis.
With a generation of experience and over 100 RCN vessels in our care, the Thales reputation for excellence and innovation in in-service-support is tested, and earned. Modern, mission-ready innovations are at the core of Thales’ service to the Royal Canadian Navy, and Thales customers across all domains.

Sovereignty begins at the border. As new risks and global threats emerge, Thales customers are calling for a higher level of security to reinforce land and maritime borders.
Thales’ biometrics technology offers solutions that balance rigour and reliability with privacy and ethics for modern border security that works for the traveler and the operator. The Thales TrUE Technology approach aims to deliver responsible biometric products and services that build trust for both users and service providers. Thales has been helping to shape the biometrics field for over three decades, making biometrics one of its core technologies, supporting Thales’ position as a long-term partner to the Government of Canada.
Beyond biometrics, Thales is leveraging its legacy of excellence and expertise in aerospace systems and air traffic management to develop drone solutions fit for urban, coastal and remote environments and equipped to detect, monitor and alert for the security of infrastructure and borders in civil and military contexts.
Border management is no longer about discrete, standalone checkpoints. Modern security postures rely on holistic, integrated approaches that bring together any number of different sites and environments. Thales is delivering future-ready border ecosystems, today.

Governments, armed forces and businesses all over the world are wrestling with the opportunity and threat offered by new digital technologies. Big data, autonomy, artificial intelligence and the Internet-of-Things (IoT) are being deployed into critical settings to improve performance and deliver new products and services. No matter the technology, secure systems and trusted platforms are essential to manage data and risk, and to mitigate against evolving threats in cyberspace, keeping people and assets safe.
In 2025, Thales stood-up its National Digital Excellence Centre and cyber range simulated environment in Atlantic Canada to advance cyber resiliency and cyber skills development together with the University of New Brunswick’s McKenna Institute. This site highlights Thales’ commitment to deepening cyber resiliency in Canada with a focus in defence and security. Thales is also developing innovative cyber solutions, such as CyberNode – cyber security technology that protects ship-to-shore networks with secure, real-time monitoring for maritime applications.
These developments, and more, are backed by Thales’ status as a global leader in cyber security – #1 in data security – with over 6,000 cyber experts and developers and 11 security operations centres (SOC) worldwide.

Thales continues to invest in the next generation of talent through robust co-op and internship opportunities, established entry-level recruitment initiatives, and a corporate emphasis on career development, mentorship and training for all Thales employees. As one of the founders of the Canadian Industrial Leadership Award, Thales is also working to increase employment and advancement opportunities for young women in STEM.
In 2025, Thales made a substantial commitment to bridging the cyber skills and workforce gap in Canada, with the launch of its National Digital Excellence Centre and cyber range simulated environment in Fredericton. The NDEC is a commitment to strengthening Thales Canada’s cyber capacity in support of its customers, and to advancing cyber skills and hygiene in audiences ranging from K-12 to Canadian SMBs.
These investments have led to Thales’ recognition as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People, Best Diversity Employers, and Top Employers in the Nation’s Capital.

We help our customers think smarter and act faster – delivering innovative means to master ever-greater complexity at every decisive moment along the way.
