Thales has been playing the role of a trusted technology partner for India. The company is ramping up its R&D activities in the country, through the opening of an Engineering Competency Centre (ECC) in Bengaluru, commissioned in February 2019. The ECC in Bengaluru is first-of-its-kind in India that focuses on both civil and defence activities. Currently it is working in the areas of defence, aerospace and transportation.
To begin with, ECC is working on some high value-added software domains - air traffic management, complex avionics systems, cockpit, flight management, connectivity & video systems, radar softwares. It is also creating a capability in advanced hardware technology - Radio Frequency/ designs for radars & communications, high performance processing units and in general airborne digital processing functions.
Thales also has another ECC in Gurugram and Noida that is focused on digital identity and security business. Our digital identity and security business includes cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), biometric as well as big data analytics solutions.
