Meet our students
Get to know some of our students and convince yourself of the benefits of a dual study program at Thales.
We asked our new dual students and higher semesters to introduce themselves and tell us their reasons for choosing the dual study program at Thales in cooperation with the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg.

I always wanted to be an engineer and I really enjoy technical work. In order to be able to work in different areas, I want to keep my options open for later on with this profession.
Due to the variety of fields Thales is active in, I find the company very attractive. The staff also made a very positive impression on me. They gave me the opportunity to gain experience worldwide which was an additional important point in my decision.

Technological change is happening right now and affects all of us. This is why having great prospects for the future was important to me when choosing a career. This is how I found the business informatics course which offers me the opportunity to solve business problems and issues with the help of computer science. With its view to “make the world of tomorrow already a reality today”, Thales impressed me from the very beginning. As an innovative and international company with activities in many different industries, Thales opens many doors for personal development.

I decided for computer science because a future without computers is unthinkable. I am particularly interested in new technologies, the development of software and new innovative solutions. Since Thales is active in different fields, you have a wide range of practical topics to choose from. Thales is therefore optimal for studying computer science.

A career in computer science is very future-oriented. Digitalisation keeps on evolving and requires more and more experts. This means that computer scientists are in demand in a wide range of industries and the chance of finding a job is excellent. Furthermore, the job profile keeps on evolving with the increased expansion of technology and developing digitalisation or the increasing digital demands. This also keeps the range of tasks extremely diverse, as technology never comes to a standstill. There will always be opportunities for further training.
Thales offers many interesting business areas to work in and is not limited to just one branch. The opportunities are therefore much more varied than in other companies.
However, it is the working atmosphere that is particularly close to my heart. The people at Thales are not only very friendly and helping, but create an almost family-like atmosphere. This helpfulness becomes also very apparent during the studies. Thales tries to support the students as much as possible. Especially now, during times of Covid, Thales is committed to smooth operations and is on hand with help and advice for everyone. -

Due to my hobby – flying small aircraft – Air Traffic Management has become an ever-present topic for me. The division of the same name at Thales that successfully exports products for air traffic control throughout the world was the reason why the company was my favourite for the dual study programme.
Fortunately, this can be perfectly combined with my second passion: programming. This is why I decided to study computer science.
During my studies, I regularly meet new colleagues who are experts in their field and who show me how to best apply the knowledge gained at the university in practice.

I have always been interested in computers and the things happening inside the computer which is why computer science was an option for me. I love to work with computers and I love gaming. Thales was more of an unknown company to me. However, I became aware of the location in Ditzingen through several detours. After I had been on-site for the first time, I was also immediately convinced that I wanted to stay here. There is almost a family-like feel in the company and the building is very new. All in all, this supported me in choosing this company over others.

I decided for computer science studies with a focus on data science, because I have always been very interested in computers since I was a child. Since then, my enthusiasm for this topic has only increased and I was sure that I wanted to work in this field in the future. Technology keeps on developing rapidly and new inventions are being created all the time. It is exciting to be part of this development.
I love the fact that Thales has subsidiaries all over the world. You are part of an international company that operates in a large number of areas. This diversity convinced me to start a dual study programme at Thales.

While I was catching up on my technical college entrance qualification, I thought about what I could study afterwards. I was thinking of my training as a process mechanic during which I had the opportunity to complete a one-month basic course in electronics. Since the subject suited me and I was very interested in it, I decided to take the course. In addition, electrical engineering is an exciting and varied field that keeps on evolving.
Thales operates in very exciting business areas and contributes to making our everyday life more safe thanks to its innovative and reliable solutions. In addition, Thales offers the opportunity to get to know many different areas and thus gain various experiences. For example, I got insights into hardware development, software development and project management. -
