The implementation of an effective video surveillance system (colour, IR and thermal cameras; fibre optics and IP network transmissions; digital recording) provides control of a site's sensitive areas. The video images are reviewed from the control centres, on graphic workstations equipped with intelligent image analysis software with multiple applications: detection of abandoned objects, detection of unusual behaviour, automatic trailing of suspicious individuals, and other methodologies.

Video surveillance also records images before and after an alarm is generated for immediate analysis to verify the reason for the alarm, as well as the continuous, long-term recording of images to detect suspicious events.
