Type 45 Long Range Radar – Enhancing through-life support

Having been chosen as supplier of the S1850M Long Range Air Surveillance Radar for the Royal Navy's new Type 45 destroyers, Thales is working in partnership with the Royal Navy to create a comprehensive training programme for the maintainers of the system. By applying Directed-Fidelity® principles we are working to enhance and optimise through-life support.

Based on in-depth analysis of present and future training needs and customer options, we are creating a broad range of training materials, course works, and computer-based training systems.

These will enable Royal Navy support personnel to learn and practice essential skills; including fault-finding, installation and repair of Type 45 Long Range Radar system modules and displays.
