Overview
Thales works in close cooperation with its customers, design and development of innovative solutions supporting Network Enabled Capabilities (NEC) and Network Centric Warfare. The first steps come with the BOA (“Bulle Opérationnelle Aéroportée”), the future French cooperative fighting system. BOA will synchronize operations formerly conducted by independent combat platforms and command systems. Thales develops a systems concepts simulator (SIM EC3) to baseline architectures for BOA. Thales also leads the industrial consortium (GIAT, SAGEM and THALES) for the demonstrator and architecture phase.

Main characteristics
BOA programme will examine new concepts for network-enabled warfare and will:
- Allow, through demonstrations, the evaluation of the capabilities gains of the close combat by the operationals
- Realize the LTO ("Laboratoire Technico-Opérationnel" or Battle-lab) containing collaborative tools dedicated to the air-ground combat and used to
analyze land forces missions, to capitalize on feedback and to support design and modelling.
- Identify the eligible architectures for the future close combat system of Frenchland forces.
