Kia Thye is currently the Managing Director, Airport Operations Planning & Airside
with the Changi Airport Group (S) Pte Ltd (CAG). In this role, he oversees strategic planning for airport operations and drives airside operations and management, a critical part of the business that has grown in complexity with increasing air traffic.
Given his extensive experience in airport set-up and operations, he was seconded to CAG’s subsidiary, Changi Airports International (CAI) in 2007 to help manage operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport as part of CAI’s management agreement with the Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC). As Director of Operations, he led the operations team in implementing wide ranging improvements at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Prior to the corporatisation of Changi Airport, Kia Thye also contributed in a number of different roles with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and the Ministry of Transport. He was involved in aviation policy reviews, air services negotiations, management of terminal upgrading works and air cargo development.
