Annamaria PIRAS

After obtaining a doctor’s degree in physics, Annamaria Piras spent ten years teaching an international Master’s degree in Space Exploration organised by the Engineering University Politecnico di Torino, supported by Thales Alenia Space.

Having joined the Franco-Italian joint venture, Annamaria then held a number of positions, working notably on all the Italian International Space Station Habitable Modules. She is currently the head of several programmes focused on Low Earth Orbit exploration and commercial stationing, and has management responsibilities on ESA’s Orion and Gateway programmes.

Annamaria is a member of International Astronautic Federation with an active role on the Human Space Flight and Operations the committees.
