Ensuring the safety and security of people and property is a major challenge today for companies and administrations. Thales' Carmetrics is an advanced solution for automatic licence plate recognition and vehicle identification that helps to increase the effectiveness of modern security systems.

Carmetrics uses the latest technology to capture vehicle licence plates, analyse images and provide intuitive user interface for the operators. An additional vehicle authentication function is available to increase the level of security, based on a multi-criteria comparison of a photo of the vehicle and a photo stored inn memory. The system is effective by day and by night with both stationary and moving vehicles.

Carmetrics can be used in many different fields, such as access control to public or private car parks, logistics, roads and motorways, police force applications and automatic detection of traffic violation. Carmetrics has been selected by Aéroports de Paris to protect car parks at Charles de Gaulle Airport.
