Proud Wakka Wakka man, artist David Williams introduces Thales Australia's new Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) artwork
Thales Australia has unveiled a new RAP artwork at a special event to commemorate the conclusion of National Reconciliation Week 2022. In a special video message, artist David Williams shares with us more about his life as a proud Wakka Wakka man, artist and Executive Director of creative agency Gilimbaa, in addition to the inspiration behind his new artwork creation for Thales Australia.
Titled ‘Our Past. Our Present. Our Future. The Extraordinary Potential of Us’, the artwork represents our story of reconciliation - one that’s still being written with the future chapters ours to shape. As we move forward together, we not only reflect on Thales’s heritage, but the 80,000+ years of history and culture in these lands. When we listen, learn, and grow, we strengthen our respect, recognition, and knowledge of the histories, contributions, and achievements of First Nations peoples. And by challenging ourselves and each other, we can write the next chapters of our story together, as one.
