Thales Goes Large on Missile Production

Thales has purchased a start-of-the-art vertical planetary batch mixer from the US that will enable larger rocket motors and missile warheads to be manufactured at Mulwala, supporting production of advanced guided weapons and hypersonic weapons that the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is already or planning to acquire.

“The new mixing capability gives us the ability to support the Sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise, which is rapidly accelerating. These capabilities you don’t turn on overnight; they take time to bring in, get established, commissioned and operating and we want to be ahead of the solution decision making space to then be able to provide that support,” Managing Director of Thales’ Australian munitions business, Dion Habner, told DTR.
