Encrypt your data with CYRIS for Outlook from Thales

Thales and Microsoft France have officially launched the CYRIS for Outlook app. Specially developed by Thales and natively integrated with Office 365, the solution can be used directly in the Outlook interface.

Microsoft announced a partnership with Thales at the launch of Office 2016 for the integration of the CYRIS secure locker with Microsoft’s Office productivity suite. The CYRIS app lets users encrypt, share and store sensitive files by email.

The first French-made locker for data protection in the cloud

CYRIS for Outlook is a new digital safe that lets users encrypt their data at low cost. It brings new functionality to the Office suite and integrates natively with the Outlook email program.

The two key design briefs under the partnership were intuitive use and easy accessibility. This new technology is available for as little as EUR 2.00 per user per month and is compatible with all platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, IOS, Android and web browsers. In just a few clicks, email attachments are encrypted and sent to the server. All file types are supported, with a size limit of 5 GB. Users can also choose how and where their data is stored, including the choice of cloud storage provider, depending on the type of file and how sensitive it is.

Launch in 2016

The CYRIS for Outlook app is available in the Microsoft Office Store. It can be downloaded as a free trial version until the end of the year and will be on sale in early 2016. It is also compatible with other security solutions from Microsoft, such as Azure AD, Azure RMS and Data Loss Protection. In conjunction with DLP, it can be configured to block the sending of unencrypted files in line with company security policy.
