Thales UK proud to be sponsoring Combat Stress Armistice Lecture

Thales UK is proud to be sponsoring this year’s Combat Stress Armistice Lecture in November, featuring celebrated war correspondent Martin Bell who will be reflecting on his 50 year career covering conflicts around the world.

'Some Lessons of War' will address Martin’s experiences as a broadcaster in the 'unquiet corners of the world' and the lessons he has learnt from them. It will also include reflections on the World War One centenary.

The event takes place at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) (Sixty One Whitehall) at 12pm on Tuesday 4 November 2014. RUSI is located in the heart of London's Whitehall and is the professional forum in the UK for those concerned with national and international defence and security.

Registration with tea and coffee is at 11am. Tickets cost £29.50 and include a light buffet lunch and wine.

To book your ticket, call Tori Monks on 01372 587 148 or e-mail.

Combat Stress, the veterans’ mental health charity, was founded in May 1919, just after World War One. Mental ill-health affects ex-service men and women of all ages. A vital lifeline for ex-military and their families, the charity is currently supporting more than 5,400 veterans aged from 19 to 97.

As a long-standing supporter of Combat Stress, Thales also recently sponsored the charity's London concert in September to commemorate World War One.

Mike Seabrook, Company Secretary, Thales UK says:

“Our sponsoring of Combat Stress 95th year anniversary events is part of Thales’s continuing commitment to support our Armed Services and ex-servicemen and women. The services that Combat Stress provide are in demand and we are keenly aware that this is set to continue and grow in the future. So our support, and that of others, is vital to the Charity in being able to meet that demand. We are proud to do so.”
