Thales opens its first defence related facility in Denmark

During operational missions, communications in and outside of the vehicles must be ensured for the safety of the Danish forces. Thales’ SOTAS communication system is based on a high performance open architecture that is modular and scalable. The modular components can be assembled and scaled to provide optimal system configurations for all vehicle types and missions.

Today Thales delivers the communications system SOTAS to many of the Danish forces’ tracked and wheeled vehicles. This contract, signed in 2017, included the acquisition of the SOTAS system as well as services for the equipment delivered in order. Therefore, Thales will open its first defence related facility in Denmark on October 30th 2018, which is dedicated to this task.

This new Danish facility is the result of a Thales’ expertise  in order to perfectly fit to the needs of the customer. In close co-operation with DALO, Thales will ensure that the integration with other types of equipment will happen smoothly.

For Thales, the opening of this new Danish maintenance department marks the beginning of a stronger relation and industrial presence in Denmark, as a part of its strategy to establish a defence related industrial base in Denmark, which can contribute to achieving further strategic relevance for the country.

“Thales’ ambition is to provide efficient and high performance solutions including services to the Danish forces. DALO’s trust in Thales’ expertise is key for the opening of this facility in Denmark, which is the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between the Danish defence and Thales.” Martin Søegaard, responsible for Thales’ defence activites in Denmark.
