ETCS for high-speed lines
Thales has installed its AlTrac ETCS Level 1 solution, interlockings and a traffic control centre on Turkey’s first high-speed line, which links Ankara and Eskişehir (262km). ETCS Level 2 deployment and tests are on-going in this section. The second phase of the project includes a 173km line currently under test and commissioning. When complete, travel time from Ankara to Istanbul will be reduced from seven hours to just two-and-a-half hours. In addition, the 33km commuter line from Cumaovası to Tepeköy is being equipped with ETCS Level 1 and 2 solutions.
Urban Transport
Boosting urban mobility in Istanbul
SelTrac® CBTC moving-block technology is transforming passenger mobility, with safe, reliable journeys and minimum headways to optimise capacity on the city’s new 22km metro line on the Anatolian (Asian) side of Istanbul. Thales provided turnkey delivery of integrated signalling and communications for the new line, which is playing a vital part in supporting sustainable urban growth and alleviating high levels of traffic congestion.
