    We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Engineer to join our In Service Support team to work on the Royal Australian Navy Minehunter ships. In this role, you will run projects related to mechanical and electrical hardware upgrades and obsolescence engineering issues, meaning you will be able to take projects from initial requirements right through the engineering life-cycle to completion!


    Key Responsibilities of this Role Include:
    • Reporting of technical investigations into problems associated with mechanical and electronic/electrical systems and hardware
    • Conduct investigations into obsolescence of mechanical and electronic/electrical systems and equipment and recommend appropriate, cost effective solutions to the customer
    • Preparation of engineering drawings and documents in support of sonar equipment design, development and maintenance activities
    • Preparation of design change documentation including manufacturing drawings, installation instructions, cost estimates and test and trials procedures
    • Providing support to fault diagnosis and repair of the Sonar Reference Set and Sonar Towed Bodies.
    Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required Includes:
    • Advanced Diploma or preferably a Bachelor Degree in Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering
    • Previous experience working with electronic or electro-mechanical systems/equipment
    • Prior experience working in a defence environment would be an advantage however is not essential
    • Enthusiastic and 'can do' approach to problem solving.

    We are looking for a passionate Software Engineering Change Lead who will be responsible for the consistency and integration of the Engineering tools supporting the software engineering processe of the OneSKY Project

    As part of this role, you will: 

    • Ensure consistency and integration of the Engineering tools
    • Implement specific tooling aspects, or identify missing technical skills to ensure proper tooling deployment
    • Ensure proper configuration management of tooling deployed on OneSky
    • Conduct or support training/coaching on specific tooling
    • Define  Qualification strategy for each Engineering tool, in coordination with Software Assurance Specialists.
    • Produce Tool Operational Requirements (TOR) and corresponding Verification and Validation procedures as well as review High Level Requirements and corresponding High level Tests.

    About your experience: 
    • Applied Science or Engineering Degree and Hold, or be eligible for, CPEng status as a member of Engineers Australia.
    • Experience greater than 3 years in software development of real time and distributed systems in Rail, Traffic, Marine, Aviation or any safety real time systems area.
    • Strong knowledge of Software Engineering process lifecycle.
    • Experience in development and/or deployment of tooling and processes supporting software development
    • Knowledge in System and/or Software Engineering tools

    • Develop and manage the system safety program for the entire life cycle of a project

    About You

    • Relevant tertiary qualification (Systems Safety / Engineering / Engineering / Human Factors)
    • Demonstrated experience in a similar systems safety focused role
    • Strong knowledge across systems safety and knowledge of relevant tools / techniques and standards with experience of managing a safety program
    • Previous experience with defence system safety programs in accordance with MIL-STD 882E
    • Knowledge of applied functional safety standards including IEC-61508,  IEC 6151,  ABR 6303 and ABR 6492
    • Working knowledge of system safety tools and techniques including Fault Tree Analyses, Event Tree Analyses, HAZID and SWIFT

    Due to significant bidding activity and results expected imminently, we are seeking a suitably qualified Systems Engineering Manager. You will bring your extensive systems engineering experience to bear on complex projects with challenging time lines - your ability to thrive in this kind of environment will stand you in good stead.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Understanding of the engineering requirements for relevant bid/projects and schedule and allocate Work Packages to relevant engineering employees for completion.
    • Monitor and coordinate technical and engineering activities are carried out in accordance with contract and company quality system requirements.

    • Ability to work with a diverse array of technologies and development platforms
    Special Requirements:

    This is an exciting project building the Transport system of the future for Sydney. Travel to site will be required to support testing and commissioning.
