Abstract: The ability to connect sensors, decision-makers and effectors within Domains, the Joint Force, and between allied nations is essential to Australian Defence’s ability to operate and achieve success in collaborative exercises or in conflict. The need for technology to enable secure data-driven interoperability within the FVEY’s, with our NATO partners and other allied nations, has never been greater. From the tactical edge to enterprise, access by personnel, applications and autonomous systems to the right information exactly when and where it is needed is the key to success. Please join us as we discuss the importance of data-driven interoperability between allied nations, and aligning to key initiatives such as FMN, JADC2 and SIE. You’ll also hear from global and local representatives from Microsoft, Thales, and Dell Technologies during an interactive panel on the role of Industry and partnerships in transforming Defence capability in interoperable environments.

Abstract: Military, intelligence and government operations are typified by environments that are becoming increasingly contested and congested. Adversaries are more dynamic, intelligent and have a willingness to fail to learn. The cycles required for operational support and decision are rapidly reducing. This drives a competitive cycle that makes data and data-driven intelligence a new arms race. S2IX demonstrates the ability to intelligently manage the latest data from edge systems (sensors, C2 and effectors) to all levels of command including multi-domain partnered centres. This operational data fabric ensures forces can collaboratively develop data-driven operational response options to defeat emerging and disruptive threats. The outcome achieved is that edge systems maintain competitive relevance, and, through seamless collaboration, forces have the insights, integrated understanding and data enhanced systems to drive tactical advantage. This presentation (and discussion) is centred on supporting data as a sensor, C2 and effector combat multiplier to support the augmentation of decision layers across multiple domains and partners.

Abstract: Australia’s Defence community has never faced a more challenging cyber threat landscape, while concurrently its cybersecurity analysis operations are constrained by information handling processes due to CLASSIFICATION. This presentation by Thales will explore how commercial data discovery and anonymisation, which is successfully used throughout the financial services industry today, could enable Defence to dynamically anonymise cyber intelligence data so that it can be safely shared with specialist external cyber analysts or platforms. Combined with the ability for Defence to reverse the anonymisation process within their secure domain, Defence will also be able to respond to cyber threats identified by third party intelligence services or analysis. The ultimate result being improved cybersecurity outcomes at a lower overall cost than building bespoke Defence cyber analysis capabilities, while concurrently supporting local cyber intelligence companies to grow their capabilities to secure other Australian government or commercial clients.
