Thales to reinforce its defence technology prowess at DefExpo 2022

  • Thales will be present at the DefExpo22 (Stand R.14, Hall 12) to showcase its robust and diverse portfolio of capabilities that support the Indian armed forces' modernisation ambitions.
  • The emphasis will be on Thales' 'Make in India' commitment and contribution to 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' vision of the country through local partnerships, design and development.
  • Visitors at the Thales stand will be able to experience physical demos and digital immersive experiences covering Aero, Naval and Land Defence as well as Space capabilities.

New Delhi/ Ahmedabad, February 25, 2022: Thales will be present in full strength at the 12th edition of DefExpo 2022, India's flagship defence show. At its stand R.14, Hall 12, Thales will exhibit an array of state-of-the-art technologies across Land, Air and Naval defence as well as Space that aim to support the modernisation needs of the Indian Armed Forces. Thales' demonstrations will underline the company's commitment to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision of the country. 

On display in Air Defence, Thales will bring its air defence systems such as Laser Beam Riding MANPAD System (LBRMS) and Lightweight Multi-role Missiles (LMM), high-performing, lightweight, precision strike, missile, designed to be fired from tactical platforms including fixed or rotary winged UAVs and surface platforms to Defexpo 2022. 

Another highlight especially for the armaments and dismounted combat segment will be the Laser-Guided Rocket, offering unprecedented levels of precision and safety from a platform to defeat soft and light armoured targets; lightweight assault rifle F90MBR designed to perform in the world’s toughest environments, delivering accuracy, reliability and adaptability for the modern soldier, and mortar systems.

As part of its underwater solutions display, Thales will introduce CAPTAS-1 Sonar and the Acoustic Shot Detector Sensor for the maritime environment (ACUSONICS). And to add to the organisation’s arsenal of unmanned anti-submarine warfare offerings, Thales will also showcase the new-generation sonobuoy (Sonoflash). 

The defence stakeholders will also be able to discover other solutions from Thales across categories including Space technologies for defence through digitally immersive experiences.
