    We are currently looking for Bid Manager to join the Thales InFlyt Experience team in Irvine, California.

     

    The Bid Manager is responsible for the development of high quality winning proposals for prospective customers.  This entails the management of a multi-disciplined proposal team through the bid development process. 

     

    Key Responsibilities:


    • Proactively manage a multi-disciplined team in the timely development and submission of multiple, concurrent contract-winning bids and proposals that include, among other items, Compliance Matrices, Program Master Schedules, Weight and Power spread sheets, Bid Control Documents (P&L) and Pricing and descriptive verbiage.
    • Work with the Sales Manager; develop and agree on a successful bid strategy for each bid/proposal.  Convey this strategy to team members from all functional areas responsible for submitting costs and schedules in support of the bid.
    • Define and gather all the requisite inputs from functional departments to support the generation of the bid and review and scrutinize those inputs to assure they are well-founded and that they accurately reflect the scope of work to be performed.
    • Comply with established company processes and, while utilizing the appropriate Chorus 2.0 process level and  related information systems,  synthesize the bid/proposal for presentation to management for required approvals.
    • Coordinate and present, with the help of the Sales Manager and aligned with Chorus 2.0 process, the Gate 1 (Bid/No Bid) and Gate 2 (Submit/Do Not Submit) presentations to management .
    • Maintain a close and professional working relationship between all internal functional departments and any other BL’s with whom we work; promote an attitude of cooperation and solidarity in the responsible pursuit of new contracts and the expansion of our business. 
    • Proactively participate in identifying key barriers and risks to the attainment of the above listed primary objectives and formulate plans and actions to improve our overall effectiveness and performance in developing winning bids and proposals.
    • The Bid Manager may be asked to participate in working groups to address bid process issues and other related proposal generation workshops aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of the bid development process
    • Support the Department's needs on any special projects as directed by Executive level management.
    • The Bid Manager may from time to time be required to support customer sales meetings to better understand customer requirements which will need to be translated into commercial pricing quotations.
    • Support the Sales Manager as may be requested in his effort to consummate a sale. 


    Skills and Experience:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university (Master’s Degree (MBA) is preferred)
    • Eight to ten years of related sales or finance experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    We are currently looking for a Bid Engineer to join the Thales InFlyt Experience team in Irvine, California. 

    Under minimal management supervision, the Bid Engineer shall be responsible to provide accurate and cost effective engineering quotations. This role shall require close coordination with the Sales team to define initial engineering scope of work such dictates a system and/or product solution. The candidate shall work with the applicable design authorities to define architectural and technical requirements while in parallel providing assistance to the Bid Managers/Directors in support of all technical questions while interfacing with finance and senior management as the main engineering focal point. The position requires thorough and extensive knowledge of systems and installation engineering principles and trade practices relative to the IFE field. The candidate may directly assist Sales in coordinating engineering department activities to support the development of system solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations. The candidate shall facilitate the issuance of technical proposals and associated quotes to customers in relation with Finance and Sales departments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leads the efforts to plan, coordinate, organize, and submit all engineering bids
    Identifies and resolves potential problems relative to proposed system solutions and relative product policy before they occur in an effort to minimize the impact to bid schedule
    Works with the Systems Engineering group to develop customer solutions that meet and exceed expectations
    Works within Engineering to understand the latest available technologies and how this can be used to formulate system solutions or the customer

    o    Creating Parettos of in service issues occurrence and impact in order to provide data and priority to task team

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    Technical Abilities

    ·         Linux and Shell scripting are required

    ·         C or C++ and Java are required

    ·         MySQL, PHP are a plus

    ·         Networking technologies are a plus: IP/MAC, Ethernet switching, VLANs

    ·         Jira and Confluence are required

     

    Education

    ·         A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.

    The Senior Systems Project Engineer is responsible for the following areas of 2-3 customer projects (1 critical, 1 medium): systems design, systems IVV, system troubleshooting and some local support of In-service issues. The systems design area includes systems-level requirements definition, and the generation of respective documentation. The system development, IVV and support consist of the budgeting, scheduling and coordination of the teams responsible for the particular activities, definition and tracking of the deliverables, passing the engineering process key milestone review meeting, communication with program management team, field team and customer. Another essential function of this position is the role played in supporting Airplane Installation. Position requires thorough and extensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, which includes computer science disciplines as well as knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and trade practices in the systems field.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.        Define scope ensuring product compliance with customer requirements.

    2.        Generates documentation for each respective phase. The definition phase includes the following documentation: Customer Requirements Specification and Interface Control Documentation.

    3.        Plan, coordinate and organize phases of the customer project to completion; utilize schedules to organize and understand project tasks and manages the tasks throughout the system design and verification phases.

    4.        Manages engineering budget and forecast.

    5.        Provide budgetary status of program against plan and future work load.

    6.        Commit on schedule and budget constraints for the customer project the holder of the job is responsible for.

    We are currently looking for a Primavera Project Manager III to join the Thales Project Management team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Primavera Project Manager III will provide Integrated Scheduling support, acting as a liaison with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and the entire project team for the purpose of developing and maintaining an aggressive timeline, fully integrated, project schedules.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    v  Strong background in Project Controls

    v  Excellent communication skills

    v  Familiarity with Software Development scheduling and Agile SW development practices desirable

    v  Detail oriented with the ability to follow through on work activities independently

    v  Experience developing Project baselines with, logic driven, critical path schedules utilizing Primavera P6.

    v  Strong understanding of Project Scheduling best practices

    v  Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure development providing for sufficient fidelity of discrete work package resource assignments

    v  Ability to facilitate an interactive planning process throughout the project execution life cycle maintaining the most current Project information within the schedule

    v  Proactive in obtaining input from all project team members to support ongoing analysis and forecasting relative to impacts on completion dates, float erosion, and updates to the Program Estimates To Complete (ETC)

    v  Maintain schedule horizontal and vertical integration

    v  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    v  Knowledge of SAP a plus

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·         Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    ·         Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    ·         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    We are currently looking for a Principal Systems Project Engineer to join the Thales IFEC team in Irvine, California. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

     

    Thales is currently looking for a talented individual to join our Project Engineering team to be responsible for the following areas of 2-3 customer projects: systems design, systems IVV, system troubleshooting and some local support of In-service issues. The systems design area includes systems-level requirements definition, and the generation of respective documentation. The system development, IVV and support consist of the budgeting, scheduling and coordination of the teams responsible for the particular activities, definition and tracking of the deliverables, passing the engineering process key milestone review meeting, communication with program management team, field team and customer. Another essential function of this position is the role played in supporting Airplane Installation. Position requires thorough and extensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, which includes computer science disciplines as well as knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and trade practices in the systems field.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    ·         Define scope ensuring product compliance with customer requirements.

    ·         Generates documentation for each respective phase. The definition phase includes the following documentation: Customer Requirements Specification and Interface Control Documentation.

    ·         Plan, coordinate and organize phases of the customer project to completion; utilize schedules to organize and understand project tasks and manages the tasks throughout the system design and verification phases.

    ·         Manages engineering budget and forecast.

    ·         Provide budgetary status of program against plan and future work load.

    ·         Commit on schedule and budget constraints for the customer project the holder of the job is responsible for.

    ·         Identify and resolve potential problems before they occur therefore minimizing the impact to schedule and cost.

    ·         Establish accountability and measurements, continually review progress, efficient reporting.              Technical focal from engineering communicating with program management team, field team and customer.

    ·         Close out the project and conduct lessons learned

    ·         Strong Microsoft skills, specifically Word, Excel and MS Project. Visio a plus.

    ·         Will require some travel.

     

     

    Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·         Experience managing and leading engineering projects including coordination with transversal organizations.

    ·         Experience with creating and managing detailed schedules and tracking progress.

    ·         Experience in IFE or avionics/electronic system a plus.

    ·         Proven experience with Risk Management (including defining, mitigating, tracking).

    ·         Experience managing a budget and tracking milestones.

    ·         Very good knowledge of all phases of system development lifecycle: system development, IVV and support.

    ·         Self –motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background.
