    We are currently looking for a
    Program Manager II to join the Thales Program Management team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Program Manager II manages the execution of a small and/or medium sized programs, with low to moderate complexity from Sales transition handover through delivery of the final aircraft and closure of commitment letter items.  Good understanding of customer technical, schedule and programmatic requirements, as well as the technology and product development necessary to carry out the program to meet customer expectations. Responsible for the cost and schedule performance and risk management for assigned programs. Coordinates with internal Thales organizations, such as the Business Unit (BU), Technical Business Unit (TBU) and Avionics Services Worldwide (ASW) to communicate customer requirements and execute the program with technical accuracy, consistency and profitability.     Key Responsibilities:

     

    1.      Conduct all business in an honest and transparent manner with high ethical standards.

    2.     Support the WINBID process for Sales and Bid Management, by assisting with Program Management bid inputs, risk             identification and technical response coordination.

     

    3.     Participate in the transition handover meeting from Sales and Bid Management to Program Management.

     

    4.     Assist in the identification and establishment of a cross-functional program team in accordance with the established Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

     

    5.     Develop the program Bill of Materials (BOM).  Identify risk areas and seek to stabilize the BOM as early in the program as possible.

     

    6.     Conduct the internal preparation activities for the Initial Technical Coordination Meeting (ITCM) for the program.  Participation in the internal pre-ITCM and the ITCM at the aircraft manufacturer’s site is required.

     

    7.     Conduct the internal program Kick Off Meeting (KOM) to facilitate communication of the airline customer expectations, and the delivery schedule for parts and documentation necessary for seat components and aircraft linefit and retrofit installation parts.

     

    8.     Ensure Internal Purchase Orders (IPOs) are released in a timely manner within normal production lead times, to the maximum extent allowed by the customer agreement.

     

    9.     Direct and oversee program activities to assure the accomplishment of program objectives in a profitable way that meets or exceeds customer and Thales expectations.

     

    10.   For new programs, implement the Manage Program (MAP) program tracking tool.  Once the MAP is set up, maintain and update of the program MAP on a frequent basis.  Ensure that accurate program records are maintained in accordance with current document retention and filing processes.

    The Experience Manager - UX will be responsible for defining Interaction/visual design, identifying UI Design Patterns, Information Architecture, Functionality and Usefulness (Requirements, Epics) of user experience design deliverables. A passion for User Research - data driven products and business intelligence is a strong plus.  The individual will be working with multi-disciplinary team, Customers and engineers in interactive design sessions.  The individual must have experience in defining concise and distinctive user centered solutions through an iterative design process as well as synthesizing input from multiple stakeholders including product management, account management and sales, engineering, and Airlines. The User Experience Manager will work closely with the Product Line, Architects and System to bring a singular focus on the end users, their tasks and goals, by applying User Centered Design methodologies. 

    Key Responsibilities:
     
    Executing interaction design and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    Develop the full stack of UX deliverables, from User research (personas) and storyboards, to information architecture and interaction design, to UI design & wireframes, as well as visual standards
    Analyze data and devise strong companion visualizations.
    Develop alternative approaches to meeting product requirements, using judgment to suggest optimal solutions to design problems that balance customer need, business constraints, and technological realities.
    Responsible for defining the user interface of key customer experiences and projects, concentrating on end-to-end scenarios and key user tasks.
    Collaborating on user experience planning with UX product line and architects and Design smart solutions to complex system workflows.
    Understands Customer needs and works with the Airline Marketing team to constantly understand their need and participate in validation of the final User Interface product. 

    Develops and shares customer’s insights and drives these into outcomes, by defining Nonfunctional requirements which help ensuring that the final User Interface meets software quality requirements. Responsible for feature definition and how these are intended to be implemented over time. 
    Researching interaction design trends, Identify the design patterns and work with the development teams in creating a framework to build these patterns
    You will be required to work on user interface design, usability, accessibility, information architecture and Human Machine Interaction.


    Required Skills and Experience:

    BS/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related experience. 8-12+ years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree. 6+ years’ of experience with a Master’s degree.
    Experience designing for a variety of touch input technologies including multi-screen interface environments.

    We are currently looking for a
    Development Program Manager to join the Thales Program Management team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Development Program Manager will manage the Boeing 777X OEM development program including coordination of systems and HW developments, overall integration and testing. Manage and lead the Flight test aircraft program and support the Launch Customer.

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    2. Serve as the Boeing 777X OEM focal in Irvine managing the OEM development program.

    3. Support Product Line Management, by assisting with any/all required program management

    inputs, identifying risks and coordinating technical responses, including the addition of other platforms to the AVANT baseline.

    4. Lead the internal coordination for the B777X development program between Sys-SW , HW,  IVV and Launch Customer Program teams.

    5. Ensure Internal Purchase Orders (IPOs) and are released in a timely manner within normal production lead times, to the maximum extent possible to support development program needs, including Authorization for Expenditures (AFE) as required.

    6. Maintain comprehensive Program Reporting Tools (PRTs or MAP) including budget, key program milestones, schedule details, risk and opportunities, technical data deliverables and critical path, decision gates necessary to achieve program targets and objectives. Ensure that accurate and current program records are maintained in accordance with current document retention and filing processes and report out monthly using these tools.

    7. Actively participate in the regular program team meetings to review technical progress, schedule performance, cost performance, risks and customer satisfaction and write the minutes of meeting.

    8. Coordinate closely with engineering and finance that the reported financials in the various PRTs are accurate.

    9. Ensure all correspondence is high quality, accurate and timely and respects the intellectual property agreements in place.

    10. Prepare for, and participate in, program and development milestone meetings, Internal Program Reviews (IPRs) and other related meetings as applicable to the program requirements.

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         Bachelor’s in engineering (avionics or electrical or mechanical) with 8-12+ years experience or Master’s degree in field with 6+ years experience

    We are currently looking for a Program Control Administrator to join the Thales Program Management team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Program Control Administrator assists in the development and execution of project plans involving airline customers & aircraft manufactures.   Coordinates, monitors and reports on Bill of Materials (BOM) delivery status; monitors project milestones and assists the Program Manager in coordinating project activities with Management, airline customers, aircraft manufactures and other IFE&C entities (i.e. BU & CSS). 

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.        Manage and control all program related documentation, in accordance with established procedures.

    2.        Receive, assess, and distribute correspondence to appropriate parties, ensuring that all parties’ intellectual property rights are protected.

    3.        Assist in the development and stabilization of the BOM from the Initial Technical Coordination Meeting (ITCM) through the design cycle.

    4.        Ensure the Demand Database and MAP are updated to reflect the planned shipments for revenue recognition.

    5.        Ensure BOM Demand is loaded (via POs or IPOs) accurately, and in a timely manner per established lead-times, and coordinate requests through the Program Change Board.

    6.        Support customer satisfaction & revenue objectives by processing POs and carrying out requirements in compliance with contract and schedule constraints.  Ensure PO discrepancies are documented and acted upon in a timely manner.

    7.        Working with Supply Chain and Operations, ensure that all BOM requirements are driving correctly in SAP on an on-going basis.

    8.        Coordinate and monitor the release of drawings and technical documentation necessary to meet BOM deliverables.  Identify potential schedule risks to the Program Manager.

    9.        Work with Supply Chain to ensure delivery spreadsheet contains correct customer required Thales commit dates, and all relevant shipping information. Provide customer with various reports, including the delivery spreadsheet according to agreed upon frequency.

    10.     Support communication between customers, program management, OEMs and/or suppliers for recovery of late deliverables.

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as proposals and contracts, manufacturing production and shipment schedules, quality procedures, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare and submit order entry documentation, detail program status and action item reports and general business correspondence, as well as, ability to maintain and follow-up accordingly to assure timely completion.

    ·         Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts of algebra and geometry, and perform computations including percentages, discounts and escalation, and area, circumference and volume.

    ·         Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to effectively speak and communicate with groups of managers, suppliers and customers. 

    ·         Ability to visualize process and work in partnership with PM to identify risks and process improvements

    ·         Timely & accurate execution of tasks as assigned by members of Program Management.

    ·         Maintain a high level of satisfaction from PM’s, customers and internal functions

    ·         Familiarity with airline/travel industry, and multi-media entertainment.

     

    Minimum Qualifications: 

     

    ·         Undergraduate degree or minimum one year of related In-Flight Entertainment program management experience or minimum two years of related administrative support experience in a technology environment – or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·         Proficient with PC operation, email, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with MRP systems preferred.

    ·         Ability to pro-actively and effectively communicate and support program management of complex programs within a multi-facility, international matrix organizational structure.  Ability to establish and maintain effective internal relationships.   Ability to maintain and conduct direct communications with customers and outside suppliers in multiple time zones, and under deadline pressures.

    ·         Demonstrated drive to complete tasks with schedule challenges, and experience in a fast-paced customer-oriented environment where daily decision making and action required.

    ·         Strong written and verbal communication skills – multi-lingual ability is a plus (i.e. Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese).

    We are currently looking for a Program Manager III/IV to join the Thales Program Management team in Irvine, CA.

     

    The Program Manager III/IV will report to the Director, Program Management, a Program Manager III/IV is capable of managing the execution of large scale programs, with high complexity, from Sales transition handover through delivery of the final aircraft and closure of commitment letter items.  Excellent understanding of customer technical, schedule and programmatic requirements, as well as the technology and product development necessary to carry out the program to meet customer expectations. Responsible for the cost and schedule performance and risk management for assigned programs. Coordinates with internal Thales organizations, to communicate customer requirements and execute the program with technical accuracy, consistency and profitability. External communication is required with the customer, aircraft manufacturer and seat manufacturer for the assigned programs.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.        Support the WINBID process for Sales and Bid Management, by developing Program Management bid inputs, identifying risks and coordinating technical responses.

    2.        Participate in the transition handover meeting from Sales and Bid Management to Program Management.

    3.        Identify and establish a cross-functional program team in accordance with the established Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

    4.        Develop the program Bill of Materials (BOM).  Identify risk areas and seek to stabilize the BOM as early in the program as possible.

    5.        Conduct the internal preparation activities for the Initial Technical Coordination Meeting (ITCM) for the program.  Participation in the internal pre-ITCM and the ITCM at the aircraft manufacturer’s site is required.

    6.        Conduct the internal program Kick Off Meeting (KOM) to facilitate communication of the airline customer expectations, and the delivery schedule for parts and documentation necessary for seat components and aircraft linefit and retrofit installation parts.

    7.        Ensure Internal Purchase Orders (IPOs) are released in a timely manner within normal production lead times, to the maximum extent allowed by the customer agreement.

    8.        Direct and oversee program activities to assure the accomplishment of program objectives in a profitable way that meets or exceeds customer and Thales expectations.

    9.        For new programs, implement the Manage Program (MAP) program tracking tool.  Once the MAP is set up, maintain and update of the program MAP on a frequent basis.  Ensure that accurate program records are maintained in accordance with current document retention and filing processes.

    10.     Maintain a program master schedule including key program milestones, technical data deliverables and critical path decision gates, such as color selections by the customer, cable length definition by the seat supplier and aircraft manufacturer.

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    ·         Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university with 7-8 years related experience and/or training; AND/OR Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; and 5-7 years related experience and/or training.
