Forces face different air and surface threats. With a target air-to-surface of up to 4km, RapidFire is a weapon system that offers high precision thanks to its optronic fire control system integrated on a lightweight and non-intrusive turret. Its advanced algorithms, powerful gun and automatic ammunition management system allows the best reactivity and efficiency whatever the situation.
RapidFire disposes a 40 mm gun developed by CTAS, the international subsidiary of KNDS Systems and BAE Systems, to equip latest-generation armoured vehicles. Compatible with a range of ammunitions, it is equipped with 5 selectable types of ammunition, and features an integrated Fire Control system, including the operator console. It offers anti-surface and anti-air (including C-UAS) capabilities in Naval and Land situations.
With its combination of fast-into-action time and firing accuracy, these platforms are equipped with an effective close-in defence capability. RapidFire is planned to become the new standard gun system for 2nd rank French Navy ships : replenishment vessels (BRF), ocean patrol vessels (PO) and future mine warfare vessels, as well as secondary artillery for 1st rank ships.
