Gemalto wins IoT Excellence Award for industry’s first LTE M connectivity module

The award, presented by TMC and Crossfire Media, honors innovative Internet of Things (IoT) products that support new business opportunities.

Gemalto's solution is accelerating IoT marketplace expansion by delivering an extremely efficient LTE connectivity solution for the billions of devices that require Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) solutions versus traditional 4G or 5G technologies. According to Research and Markets, LPWAN IoT volumes are projected to grow with a CAGR of more than 90 percent in the next five years.
The Cinterion LTE-M module significantly improves efficiency and power saving capabilities to extend the lifespan of IoT devices while boosting performance in indoor and underground environments. It enables a long battery life of 10 years or more, making it ideal for industrial IoT applications like smart grid, connected agriculture and smart city solutions. In addition, it shares the same footprint as existing Gemalto Cinterion products allowing easy migration between existing and future standards.
