Thales now 3rd most attractive employer in the Netherlands
Thales has risen from 6th to 3rd place as most attractive employer (private sector) in the Netherlands, according to the Randstad Employer Brand Ranking 2026. This is a great achievement and says a lot about how we are perceived as an organisation.
Our rise is linked to our strong position in technology, our reputation and our employment conditions, but above all to the way we involve our employees in change.
High-tech is once again the most popular sector to work in this year, and we are proud to contribute to that! But it is not just the sector, of course: the research shows that a pleasant working atmosphere is by far (76%) the most important characteristic people expect, followed by a good work-life balance (68%). Next comes interesting job content (57%), competitive employment conditions (54%), and job security (51%).
What we are seeing in the labour market
The labour market is changing rapidly due to AI and technological developments. At the same time, employees are increasingly seeking clarity and a sense of influence. A significant proportion of employees have less confidence in the future of their jobs, particularly when changes are implemented without explanation or consultation.
What people look for in an employer, however, remains surprisingly consistent: a good working atmosphere, work-life balance and work that matters. Technology attracts people, but it is trust and leadership that determine whether they stay.
