Two biometric modalities, one platform

On January 23rd 2026, Thales was awarded a contract to deliver its flagship CABIS platform, providing an on-premises solution for fingerprint and facial recognition.

The system will allow the Agency to manage growing volumes of biometric data securely within its own infrastructure, enable forensic searches accessible to the Police Authority, and maintain interoperability with EU registers and external databases.

The project includes the migration of existing biometric records and seven years of support and maintenance.

This initiative reflects the Swedish Migration Agency’s ambition to strengthen its biometric identification capabilities and highlights Thales’ expertise in delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems for public authorities.
