Thales has provided communication solutions to the Bulgarian Air Force in the framework of the NATO ACCS (Air Command and Control System) ASBE software programme. Thales also supplies crypto equipment, which enables armed forces, NATO and governments to communicate securely and protect their most valued secrets. As a NATO member, Bulgaria benefits from Thales Norway's crypto solutions. Furthermore, Thales equips the Bulgarian Navy MMPVs (Multipurpose Modular Patrol Vessels), supplied by the German shipbuilding group Fr. Lürssen Werft (now NVL – Naval Vessels Lürssen) with naval communications.
In civil markets, Thales is a historical supplier of the Bulgarian Civil Aviation authority, delivering approach and in-flight surveillance radars, navigation aid equipment and air traffic control resources to equip the main airports of the country, including Sofia, Vitosha, Varbitsa, Varna & Burgas.
