Defence
For over 45 years, Thales has been a strong partner to the Indonesian defence ecosystem.
For the Indonesian Navy, Thales supplies combat management systems, sensors and communications, ensuring superiority at sea.
In air surveillance, Thales’ combat-proven GM403 long-range radars provide sovereignty over the skies.
The Indonesian Army is equipped with 10 Forceshield batteries, providing very short-range air defence (VSHORAD) capabilities.
All throughout, Thales ensures continuous local support of all equipment in service.

Civil Aviation
Nearly 50% of Indonesia’s airspace is equipped with Thales air traffic management systems, including Air Traffic Control centres, radars, and navaids.
In Makassar, Thales’ TopSky air traffic control systems manages over 1,000 flights daily across Eastern Indonesia. Indonesia’s flagship carrier, Garuda Indonesia, uses Thales AVANT inflight entertainment on board its A330neo aircraft.
Cyber & Digital
Thales supports Indonesia’s connectivity by providing SIMs, eSIMs, and OTA platforms for mobile operators. Over 30 Indonesian banks use Thales payment cards, including eco-friendly banking cards.
Thales secures over 40 million biometric citizen records with its Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS).
A variety of customers from major banks and State-Owned companies such as PT Telkom use Thales Data protection solutions.

Space
Thales Alenia Space has delivered four telecommunications satellites to Indonesia since 2007, enhancing the country’s connectivity infrastructure.
The SATRIA telecommunications satellite, launched in 2023, connects 145,000 sites including schools, hospitals, and government offices, bringing connectivity in a vast archipelago.
In 2024, TAS delivered the high-capacity Merah Putih 2 satellite to Telkomsat, strengthening connectivity and capacity to help bridge the digital divide.
