Civil Aviation
Since the 1990s, Thales has supported the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) and VATM in becoming a leading air navigation service provider in Southeast Asia. Thales delivers advanced aerospace solutions, including air traffic control systems, radars, and navigation aids, along with training and on-ground support. It also provides avionics for Vietnam’s fleets and in-flight entertainment systems for Vietnam Airlines. In space, Thales Alenia Space supplies satellite-based Search and Rescue systems that were proven to save lives in recent environmental incidents.
Cyber & Digital
Thales supports telecom operators like Viettel and Vinaphone in eSIM, 6G, and IoT transitions. In banking, Thales secures EMV cards for major banks and enables digital payments with chip tech and HSMs. It also supports digital transformation via authentication and risk tools, including work with NAPAS. The 2023 Imperva acquisition enhanced Thales’ cybersecurity offering, addressing cyber risks and providing detection and response services in Vietnam.

Since 2021, Thales has partnered with VNPT, with the collaboration renewed in 2025 to support key areas including space and cybersecurity. In 2025, Thales signed an MoU with the Vietnamese Space Committee and OSB to advance education, applications, and innovation in space sciences. The partnership aims to deliver training initiatives that promote socio-economic growth, strengthen sovereignty, and support Vietnam’s Space Strategy 2030.
