Defence
The Thales Singapore Defence Hub, launched in 2023, and Radar Centre of Excellence were established to build up strong local defence capabilities to support the Singapore Ministry of Defence, DSTA and the Armed forces A joint lab with DSTA was announced in 2025 to further collaborate on AI-technologies.
The Public Security Centre of Excellence in Singapore partners the Ministry of Home Affairs, HTX and other MHA agencies on border control, while Thales also operates a joint lab with HTX.

Civil Aviation
Thales supports the aerospace sector with avionics Production and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services, and a full-suite of services to global airlines, including in inflight entertainment, based out of Changi.
An Avionics Centre of Excellence was launched in 2024, followed by an announcement in 2025 of the International Avionics Lab with an MoU with the Singapore aerospace ecosystem including CAAS, CAG, ICAI, SATS, and SIA to drive aviation innovation. The Air Traffic Management (ATM) Centre of Excellence works on innovation and support of Air Traffic Management solutions in the region.
Cyber & Digital
Thales’ Cyber and Digital business in Singapore spans cybersecurity, biometrics, mobile communications and fintech. Located at its principal site at Ayer Rajah Crescent, the Thales Manufacturing Competence Centre produces banking cards and passport datapages for 500+ customers in 100+ countries. The Engineering Competence Centre, with 350+ engineers, drives local R&D in secure tech, eco-design, and AI-assisted innovations. Over 130 employees work in cybersecurity in Thales Singapore.

Digital Factory
Research, Technology & Innovation
Thales’ Research & Technology centre in Singapore, one of five global corporate labs, supports local R&D through tech transfer and collaboration with researchers and users. The Thales Digital Factory develops digital Minimum Viable Ptoducts (MVPs) and Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) using agile methods. In 2025, Thales launched cortAIx SG to accelerate ethical AI adoption in line with Singapore’s National AI Strategy, using Thales’ TrUE (Transparent, Understandable, Ethical) AI principles.

Thales Singapore has been an active partner with the Singapore ecosystem on innovation and research. It has joint labs with key stakeholders, like the CAAS-Thales AIR Lab, inaugurated in 2019, for ATM innovation, the HTX Co-Lab, launched in 2022, to develop critical solutions for national security and public safety, and a joint lab with DSTA launched in 2025 to drive joint collaboration in AI-enabled technologies. Thales also operates the CINTRA lab with CNRS and S4Tin (Space) Lab with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), both located at NTU.

Thales’ CSR efforts focus on education, digital citizenship, and environmental protection, earning the “Company of Good 2024” title from National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC). The joint CAAS-Thales AIR Lab is advancing green technologies in Air Traffic Management. Thales supports sustainable banking with eco-cards and carbon offset programs, including UOB’s bio-sourced EVOL card and Trust Bank’s Ocean Plastic card made from 70% recycled coastal PET plastic.
