Developed and manufactured by SERPE IESM, a French company already leader in the 3 frequency maritime beacon market, sold and supported by Thales, the KANNAD 406 AS and KANNAD 406 AF are COSPAS-SARSAT certified Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT).

Thanks to the COSPAS-SARSAT 406 MHz system, the aircraft in distress will benefit from:

  • global coverage
  • improved accuracy in pinpointing by satellite (< 4 km versus 20 km with 121.5/243 MHz beacons)
  • identification of the aircraft included in the distress signal
