CANSEC is Canada’s largest defence and security trade show, bringing together industry leaders, government decision-makers, and military officials to explore the latest technologies and capabilities that are shaping the future of Canadian defence.

Keeping Canadian Forces Ahead of the Threat

In contested, degraded, and denied environments, the force that can sense threats first, connect seamlessly across domains, protect critical assets, and decide faster will maintain the operational advantage. With an unmatched local presence, expertise proven in allied operations, and future-ready technology, Thales is keeping Canadian forces ahead of the threat. As Canada’s trusted long-term defence and security partner, we’re strengthening Canadian industrial capacity, investing in local skills and supply chains, and delivering the technology, expertise, and support needed to enable mission success.

  • Thales’ SOPHIE Ultima and SOPHIE Optima  optical soldier systems give platoon leaders and specialized units the ability to operate effectively during the day and night. They enable forces to maneuver safely in any mission environment, detect and identify threats, geolocate targets, coordinate fire support, direct mortar fire, and assess engagement effects at long range.
  • The TOUTATIS short-range multi-environment loitering munition can be deployed by infantry units and launched from ground vehicles, aircraft, or naval platforms to provide rapid reconnaissance and precision strike capabilities across a wide range of environments.
  • As a system architect and integrator, Thales is playing a leading role in creating an open, integrated, and standardized drone ecosystem. Through partnerships with leading platform manufacturers, we deliver interoperable solutions spanning sensors, mission systems, and effectors. Additionally, our universal ground control system – developed in Canada – enables multi-drone management for modern battlefield operations.

Naval Superiority

From surface to seabed, our naval systems help secure Canada’s maritime domain and support force readiness.

  • Thales is a leader in naval in-service support  in Canada, and a key electronic systems integrator under the National Shipbuilding Strategy. Through decades of experience delivering complex systems integration and lifecycle support, we help ensure the availability, performance, and operational readiness of Canada’s naval fleets.
  • The CAPTAS variable depth sonar delivers unmatched performance in anti-submarine warfare across diverse ocean conditions and depths. Its new containerized design enables deployment across a wider range of crewed and uncrewed vessels, increasing operational flexibility.
  • Sonoflash is a lightweight, high-performance sonobuoy. When networked with our CAPTAS and ALFS sonar systems, it enhances multi-static anti-submarine warfare operations, improving the ability to detect and track submarines over wider areas and in more challenging conditions.

Air Power

Thales provides air defence and mission systems that protect Canadian skies from the ground up. These capabilities support improved situational awareness and operational effectiveness for air forces.

The Ground Master 200 (GM200) is a combat-proven medium-range radar that simultaneously tracks a wide range of threats – from slow, small, low-signature targets to highly maneuvering stealth aircraft – at distances of up to 250 km. It is NATO interoperable, arctic-proven, and supported by a global sustainment capability that ensures reliable, mission-ready performance.
