The SonoFlash programme has passed its Industrial Qualification Review with the support of the Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA). This milestone marks the emergence of a new French industrial sector dedicated to next-generation acoustic buoys, strengthening national sovereignty and enhancing anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

The Industrial Qualification Review of the SonoFlash programme represents more than a technical achievement: it signals the structuring of a new French industrial ecosystem dedicated to acoustic buoy production.

Bringing together more than 20 major suppliers across France, this initiative strengthens national sovereignty by securing critical capabilities within the territory while fostering industrial excellence.

SonoFlash introduces a new generation of high-performance acoustic buoys designed to complement existing anti-submarine warfare systems deployed by the French Navy. These advanced solutions enhance detection, tracking and operational efficiency in increasingly complex maritime environments.

Following this key milestone, the programme is now entering its next phase, with upcoming operational evaluations led by the French Navy.

At the same time, industrial partners are preparing to scale up production to meet growing demand. With a strong order book already in place and export opportunities under discussion, SonoFlash offers promising long-term prospects for the French defence industrial base.

This momentum confirms the strategic relevance of the programme and its contribution to both national security and international competitiveness.
