During MWC 26, Toyota and Thales announced a two-year partnership aimed at redefining the next generation of Connected Car technology. Through this collaboration, the two companies will work together to explore and validate the future of automotive connectivity, leveraging Thales’ world-class expertise.

By integrating advanced connectivity technologies, the partnership ensures vehicles stay seamlessly connected while optimising data costs. A key focus involves validating next-generation enablers - such as quantum-resilient cryptography, OS virtualisation, and NTN satellite integration - to assess their strategic value for future-proof vehicle architectures.

Security is a fundamental pillar of this collaboration. Toyota will leverage Thales’ global leadership in quantum-resilient cryptography and specialised countermeasures to protect vehicles against future digital threats. This ensures that driver data remains safe and secure, even in a post-quantum world.

"Combining Toyota’s vision with Thales’ global portfolio, we're creating more affordable, highly secure, and reliable mobility for everyone."
Christine Caviglioli, VP Automotive Business at Thales.

By combining Toyota's automotive vision with Thales' extensive global portfolio in aerospace, space, and digital identity, the two companies are working to make "connected life" on the road a reality. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to building a future of mobility that customers can trust - one that is not only technologically advanced but also resilient and accessible.
