The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has granted Thales the Common Criteria certification for a key component in the terminal of the tactical communications system COMTICS. This certification ensures the secure separation of information at different classification levels. It is the only BSI-certified product that enables simultaneous connections to both classified and unclassified networks.

COMTICS was developed for modern naval operations and equips French FDI frigates and BRF tankers, British Type 31 and Type 45 frigates, as well as German K130 corvettes, supply ships, and frigates. "In critical situations, the system delivers operational precision and BSI-certified security even under the toughest conditions, providing exactly the reliability that is needed today – this is how shipboard communication should work nowadays," says Kim Oliver Schneidewind, Director NIS Solutions at Thales in Germany.
