Thales sponsors the 136th Naval Cutter Regatta
The Naval Cutter Regatta is considered the origin of Kiel Week and offers members of the Bundeswehr the opportunity to compete against each other in sailing or pulling (= rowing). In the so-called international class, Bundeswehr teams as well as crews from foreign navies compete against each other. In the open class, the Marine Youth as well as athletes with a non-military background can take part. The regatta is not only a sporting highlight – it also puts the values of camaraderie and teamwork in the spotlight and is regarded as an important event for Kiel’s maritime identity.
As a committed employer in Kiel, Thales aims to consolidate its role as part of the local maritime industry through its sponsorship and to strengthen its dedication to regional traditions and maritime culture. The most visible sign of our commitment as the sole sponsoring partner will be the imprint of our company logo on the regatta buoys, which the teams must round during the race.
