Thales delivers an end-to-end Identity Management System - from citizen enrolment to issuance of cutting-edge eID cards featuring high-resolution colour photos and advanced anti-counterfeit features. This partnership is under a 10‑year agreement with the PMO of Mauritius and alongside a local partner Harel Mallac Technologies.

Complementing the physical ID, Thales’ Digital ID Wallet empowers citizens to activate a secure mobile app for storing and sharing credentials - from ID cards to birth and marriage certificates. Users can verify identity during everyday interactions, access government or private services and digitally sign documents, all while maintaining full control of personal data via robust consent mechanisms.

This solution is fully ISO‑compliant and positions Mauritius as the first African nation to deploy a fully interoperable digital ID ecosystem. Beyond tech, Thales embeds sustainability - production powered by 100 % renewable energy, optimized energy use and global carbon offset programs. Launched on February 2024, this initiative strengthens national security, boosts citizen convenience and aligns with Mauritius’ broader Digital Mauritius 2030 vision.
