Thales’ primary & secondary ATC radars provide 24/7 detection and IFF interrogation of civil and military aircraft, from approach to long-range (from 60 to 160 NM and up to 256 NM). With advanced cyber-secure software, they handle increasingly high traffic, reduced aircraft separation, windfarm interference, and clutter.

Thales' ATC radars can detect commercial and military aircraft, fighters and drones, as well as stationary targets. Their redundant design with automatic switchover ensures high reliability and availability for 24/7 operation. All radars are compliant with ICAO, EUROCONTROL and NATO mode 5 regulations.

STAR NG is a S-Band Primary Surveillance Radar for civil and military Approach surveillance of up to 100 NM. It offers 3D detection of slow and fast primary targets as well as frequency agility & ECCM to ensure mission security and airspace safety. It can even operate in adverse conditions thanks to its clutter suppression algorithms, such as windfarm mitigation. The system ensures 24/7 continuous unmanned operation for reliable surveillance.

TRAC NG is a L-Band Primary Surveillance Radar for civil and military Long-Range air early warning surveillance of up to 256 NM. Like the STAR NG, it offers 3D detection of slow and fast primary targets as well as frequency agility & ECCM to ensure mission security and airspace safety. It can even operate in adverse conditions thanks to its clutter suppression algorithms, such as windfarm mitigation. The system ensures 24/7 continuous unmanned operation for reliable surveillance.

TRACSigma is Thales’ new L-band radar that offers a unique configuration enabling both Approach and Long-Range surveillance simultaneously for civil and military operations. The radar offers the same extended technical capabilities in terms of cybersecurity and clutter management as our other PSR solutions but provides an extended range of up to 160 NM for Approach control missions and ensures 3 NM separation, even at Long-Range.

RSM NG is an L-band Secondary Surveillance Radar that interrogates the skies 24/7 up to 256 NM. Leveraging almost 60 years of experience, RSM NG goes beyond traditional SSR radars by including Military modes (1, 2, 3), Civilian modes (A/C), Mode S as well as ADS-B detection within the same sensor, providing air traffic controllers with accurate and continuous aircraft information and meeting the aircraft's 3 NM separation.

RSM NG/IFF is Thales’ 3-in-1 standard Secondary Surveillance Radar with simultaneous Mode 5, Mode S & ADS-B, ensuring no interruption during operations and enhancing safety during civil & military missions. It provides civil and military data to air traffic controllers, all whilst maintaining segregation and military data confidentiality thanks to dedicated data streams in to order guarantee a heightened level of security.
