Thales Land SatCom portfolio combines mobility and performance

Thales satcom terminals adapt to all types of platforms, including armoured vehicles, buggies, and 4x4s. Low-profile Electronically Steerable Antennas (ESAs), such as the Pico Sling Blade (Ka-band), Sling Blade Ka and Sling Blade Ku, eliminate the need for moving parts, enabling seamless integration on platforms while significantly reducing maintenance costs. MicroSAT LM (Ka-band or Ku-band) and Milli SAT (Ka-band or Ku-band) deliver autonomous functionality for transmitting and receiving data rates of over 10 Mbps and 20 Mbps respectively. RideSAT (X-band and Ka-band) is a combat-proven solution that includes a ballistic radome to protect communications from enemy fire, with remote selection and switching of X/Ka bands during missions.

Available in different sizes, the RuggSAT and PackSAT man-portable terminals are specifically designed for operations on the ground. Their design and packaging facilitate one-person setup and all-terrain operation. Their multi-band (X, Ka or Ku), multi-orbit (GEO/HEO/MEO), multi-network capability allows for uninterrupted communications via both military and commercial satellites.

CommandSAT is a multifunctional GEO satellite antenna using X and Ka bands to support both long-haul and in-theatre communications. It is designed for easy transport by road (civil and military trucks), air (A400M), ship and rail. CommandSAT can establish up to 80 terminal links, functioning as a central hub for theatre-wide coverage. With modular capabilities, it can accommodate up to 20 modems and additional antennas for backup or enhanced capacity.

With Nano SAT H, Thales keep dismounted soldiers connected in all circumstances. Coming in at 4.19 kg, this ultra-portable, lightweight, low-profile satcom terminal is optimised for On-The-Move communications and man-carried portability. It is designed for the Ka-band and supports the O3b MEO constellation, providing autonomous operation for the transmission and reception of high data rates of more than 2 Mbps.

The Modem 21 Field is an adaptable communication device for all configurations, operating on GEO and MEO satellites across C, X, Ku, Ka and EHF bands. Designed with a rugged and sealed housing, it meets the stringent requirements of military platforms. Security features include COMSEC for encryption, TRANSEC for frequency hopping, and NETSEC for signalling security, all compliant with NATO STANAG 4606 to guarantee interoperability. The Modem 21 Field is part of Thales’s SYSTEM 21, the most secure high-speed and electronic warfare resistant satcom transmission system on the market today.
