Multi-Mission Rotary Wing Uncrewed Air System (RWUAS)

One Integrated System, Multiple Missions

  • Surveillance and intelligence
  • Drone warfare
  • Defence

Flexible, modular uncrewed air system that delivers a range of maritime missions – from surface surveillance to anti-submarine warfare – beyond the horizon, integrated with the ship’s operations room.

OUR STRENGHTS

  1. Powerful all-weather surface surveillance

Fitted with the Thales I-Master radar for 360 degree, all-weather, day/night wide area surveillance, providing long-range information back to the parent ship’s operating picture.

  2. One System, Multiple Missions

The flexibility of the Schiebel CAMCOPTER® S-100 and the Thales architecture and mission fits enables rapid re-role across a range of mission types. From maritime surface surveillance to anti-submarine warfare, always integrated end-to-end with the naval mission.

  3. Operate in the most demanding conditions

Capable of launch and recovery in challenging conditions at sea during the day and at night, Multi-Mission RWUAS supports the demands of naval operations.

  4. Integrated to provide the right data to the right place at the right time

Critical information from the RWUAS sensors, such as radar tracks and motion imagery, delivered to the Mission, C2 or Combat Management System to support timely decision making.

  5. Rapid, spiral development

Together, Thales and Schiebel have demonstrated the ability to rapidly develop and insert new capabilities at exercises such as the NATO REPMUS and DYNAMIC MESSENGER series hosted by the Portuguese Navy.

  6. Already in Service

Selected by the Royal Navy as Peregrine and already delivering on operations with a powerful surface surveillance suite based on the Thales I-Master radar.

Operational advantage in maritime missions

Multi-Mission RWUAS provides an ‘eye in the sky’ capability that extends maritime surveillance without the need for traditional crewed helicopters. The Schiebel CAMCOPTER® S-100 is fitted with the Thales I-Master Radar and an electro-optic/infra-red camera and integrated by Thales into the ship’s Combat Management System to improve situational awareness and enhance intelligence collection.

We are introducing a full suite of modular, multi-mission capabilities to RWUAS and demonstrating them at exercises such as REPMUS.  Enabling uncrewed and crewed assets to work together in an optimised way, airborne missions such as surface search, anti-submarine warfare, mine-counter measures and networked electronic warfare are possible thanks to the re-roleable nature of the integrated system.
