Local partnerships
Thales has created two joint ventures in Egypt with its partners in the country, demonstrating its commitment to developing local partnerships and driving technological advancements in the country. The joint venture called Arab International Optronics (AIO), established by Thales and the National Service Products Organization (NSPO) since 1982, locally manufactures optical and optronic equipment. Thales Benha Electronics for Electronic Industries S.A.E (TBEI), a joint venture formed in 2024 in collaboration with Benha Electronics, assembles thousands of VHF radios for the Egyptian Armed Forces.
Thales is also committed to developing local talent in Egypt, launching in 2024 the Thales Training Academy for Technology and Engineering in partnership with the Ministry of Defence and the French University in Egypt.
