Local Partnerships
Thales has reinforced its commitment to localising its defence activities in the Kingdom through the creation of SAMI Thales Electronic Systems (STES), a Joint Venture with Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), working under the ambitious directives outlined in Vision 2030.
Thales is also building partnerships in the field of education. Under the Technical Training Development of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Group has developed and implemented the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation, where students receive training in fields related to Thales.

Public Security
Thales is a leader in the public security sector, with strong expertise in the protection of critical infrastructures. Thales has been securing the holy sites of Makkah and Madina since the 1990s, welcoming millions of pilgrims each year and, in the last few years, supporting the Kingdom in making AlUla a prominent tourism destination, in partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla.
Thales has provided a traffic flow management system for Jamarat bridge, since 1994, built around advanced information systems incorporating smart image analysis technology.
Thales has also integrated security systems in petrochemical, industrial, and touristic sites such as Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Ma'aden, and Jubail 2.
Civil Aviation
Thales is a leading player in avionics, flight operations, inflight entertainment and air traffic management, with localisation of technology being a focal point of the company's strategy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Thales is also a main supplier of Avionics and In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) for Saudia, supporting the airline build unique passenger experiences at airports and during flights.

Space
Thales has been a trusted supplier of satellites to the Saudi region, having delivered all generations of ARABSAT since the 1980s.
Additionally, Thales supports Aramco with space sensor infrastructure and state-of-the-art cybersecurity solutions to build a low-carbon future, understanding today's technologies need to be intrinsically carbon conscious.
Cyber & Digital
Thales works closely with local Saudi agencies across various industries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support digital transformation under the Vision 2030.
Thales partnered with the General Printing Press Agency (GPPA) to deliver 5 million ePassports in 2021, with an additional 6 million planned to be delivered in 2025. In partnership with the National Information Center (NIC), Thales will provide over 14 million eIDs for the National Identity Program this year. Thales has also joined hands with Cyberani, an Aramco digital company, to secure critical IT and OT infrastructure and operations for clients in the Kingdom.
