In March 2025, Thales successfully completed the first phase (SC1) of the DARC framework contract, launched by the European Defence Agency (EDA). This project aims to explore advanced cybersecurity technologies, such as Data Centric Security (DCS) and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), which are now essential for protecting data flows between local and cloud infrastructures.

Between March 2024 and March 2025, Thales defined a maturity model tailored to the defence sector, developed a dedicated assessment tool, analysed the maturity level of European DCS/ZTA solutions, and mapped the technological gaps to be bridged for widespread adoption.

This approach highlights Thales’ expertise in supporting the emergence of a sovereign, modular and integrated European cybersecurity, able to meet the demands of today’s complex operational environments. Based on these results, the EDA has renewed its trust in Thales to lead the next phase through to March 2026.
