Dismounted soldiers on the battlefield today face highly complex and fast moving situations, from insurgency to high intensity conflicts against well-equipped and advanced militaries. In such contexts, enhanced perception capability becomes crucial as an enabler to better understand the situation, supporting faster and more accurate decisions, as well as higher survivability.

Thales delivers tactical radio systems designed to support battlespace digitisation and C4I systems. They provide the optimum combination of data rates, security and connectivity, and adapt automatically as operational deployments are reconfigured during a mission. The solutions also offers excellent range performance and protection against jamming on the battlefield, while optimising use of the frequency spectrum for the same amount of useful data throughput.

SYNAPS-H is the handheld version of the SYNAPS Networking SDR V/UHF radio family designed to provide unmatched agility to the dismounted commanders. With its backside mission module option, it is also a communication gateway for better coordination with various frontline units of the modern battlefield (soldiers squads, special forces,…).

In the battlefield you need to know you can rely on your radio to deliver. SquadNet is designed to perform in the toughest conditions: going further, lasting longer and providing the information that enables key decisions. Traditional radios are limited to their point-to-point range, beyond which communication is lost. SquadNet is different – automatic relaying between radios ensures communication is maintained across urban, wooded and mountainous terrain where other radios may fall short.

The AN/PRC-148D IMBITR is a small, lightweight, rugged 2-channel radio that equips Warfighters with simultaneous narrowband and wideband communications, as well as tactical command and control communications in a variety of challenging environments. Both narrowband and wideband communications are Type-1 protected. The wideband channel delivering superior voice and data communications across harsh multi-path and unpredictable dynamic areas, such as caves, on board ships, and urban operational settings.

Fastnet HD TRC 9215 is the new VHF IP Software Defined Manpack Radio designed for dismounted and vehicular multi-mission operations. Based on a new generation digital platform, it supports advanced waveforms offering continuous data flows and real time information exchange adapted to modern C2/C4i Battlefield Management Systems (BMS) and Weapon Systems (WS).

The TRC 9210 is a multi-role VHF Software Defined Manpack Radio designed for multi-mission. It offers different waveforms especially well adapted to the modern engagements requiring to get advanced realtime information for instantaneous decisions.

Javelin is a rugged, small, and lightweight single-channel radio that provides Warfighters with tactical command and control communications in a variety of challenging radiooperating environments. Using the TSM waveform, Javelin provides wideband MANET coverage, regardless of the environment, and superior voice and data communications across harsh multipath and highly dynamic environments, such as shipboard, caves and urban operational settings.

Spear is a combat-proven handheld radio that is the smallest, lightest, tactical handheld radio covering the 30–512 MHz frequency range. The software defined radio supports a wide variety of tactical Line of Site and SATCOM waveforms providing interoperability with a full range of legacy tactical radios.
