SAMDIS sonar: a step change in sea mine detection

Pioneering sonar that detects and classifies in a single pass to drive mission efficiency.

  • Collaborative combat
  • Military unmanned systems (UAV UGV UUV VTOL)

SAMDIS, based on multi-aspect technology, provides 3 images of each echo in a single pass. The efficiency of the SAMDIS antenna accelerates decision-making and enhances operational effectiveness.

SAMDIS SONAR STRENGTHS

  1. Exceptionally high performance

SAMDIS creates multi-aspect, high-resolution results with excellent shadow contrast. Its unique design creates simultaneous images: 6 Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) images per pass from 3 angles. This reduces operator workload and builds confidence in detection and classification.

  2. Integrable on any platform

SAMDIS integrates with all AUVs (autonomous underwater vehicles) and towed sonars (e.g., TSAM Thales - Towed Synthetic Aperture Multiviews). Its easy integration ensures modularity and sovereignty for all navies. Its interoperability enhances the performance and safety of naval operations.

  3. Powerful data processing

Real-time processing and artificial-intelligence enable SAMDIS to automatically detect and classify. And its strengths are maximised when combined with the powerful MiMap data management tool, where AI assists operators in further seabed exploration.

Driving mine countermeasure mission efficiency

SAMDIS combines advanced minehunting capabilities in a compact system, ensuring reliable automated detection and classification. It operates in deep and shallow waters and adapts to crewed or uncrewed platforms. It combines with MiMap, whose AI algorithms optimize threat detection.

Naval mines are an increasing threat to civilian maritime traffic and military operations. SAMDIS, a high-performance sonar adaptable to multiple platforms and effective in all environments, provides navies with a powerful solution to counter these threats. SAMDIS capabilities extend the range and effectiveness of missions, enabling navies to maintain maritime supremacy.
