In 2024, Thales was added to the CAC 40 ESG index. This welcome development not only rewards our achievements and recognises the clarity of purpose of our strategy – it also signals a broader shift in perceptions of the defence industry as a whole.

ISS ESG
Thales has been awarded Prime status (C+), signifying that its overall ESG performance meets an ambitious set of requirements and exceeds a given sector-specific threshold.
EcoVadis
Thales' Gold medal (score of 83/100) places the Group among the top 2% of firms assessed by EcoVadis.
S&P Global
In 2025, Thales completed this questionnaire for the third year running, following a three-year hiatus. The Group’s score increased once again (65/100), with notable improvements for employee management, climate strategy and governance. In 2026, Thales also entered the Dow Jones Best in Class Europe and World rankings.
CDP
Thales received an A rating for the third consecutive year, placing it in the “Leadership” category, which is reserved for companies demonstrating the highest level of maturity. In 2025, Thales also obtained its first-ever "A-" rating from the CDP Water – an improvement on the B score awarded in the Group’s last assessment, in 2024.
Sustainalytics
With a 2025 score of 26.7, which has been improving for several years, Thales ranks in the 10th percentile of the aerospace and defence industry. Despite a generally high exposure, comparable to the sector average, our rigorous management of ESG risks is recognised as “strong” by Sustainalytics.
MSCI
The MSCI ESG ratings considers that Thales sets a benchmark for product quality and safety management (BBB rating).
Latest labels
TCFD and SBTi
Thales’s greenhouse gas emission reduction targets were determined using the methodology developed by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and are in line with the 1.5°C commitments of COP26. The methodology is also recognised by the TCFD (Task Force on Climate related Financial Disclosures) set up by the G20, to which the Group committed in 2020 by becoming a signatory to its principles and recommendations.
ISO 37001
Thales is certified to ISO 37001 (anti-bribery management systems).
Supplier relations and Sustainable procurement Label
In 2025, the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial Sovereignty, along with the Conseil National des Achats (CNA), has renewed this label awarded to Thales for a period of three years. This distinction honours companies or public entities maintaining sustainable and balanced relationships with their suppliers.
