Thales has been present in Argentina for more than 30 years. The country is the headquarters of the Southern Cone region, composed by Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, and employs around 60 people locally.

Defence
Thales maintains longstanding relationships with the Argentine Armed Forces: the Army, Air Force, and Navy, actively working to participate in the Argentine program to modernize and re-equip the country.
Thales has installed ground and coastal surveillance radars for border and coastal patrols, aimed at combating drug trafficking and smuggling for various security forces in the country.
Thales also installed the Vigile 200 detection system on a Learjet 35 surveillance aircraft belonging to the Argentine Air Force to enhance situational awareness and threat protection for military platforms.

Civil Aviation

Thales is an important partner of Argentina's government when it comes to civil aviation, having installed primary and secondary radars at the main airports in the country.
Space
Thales Alenia Space offers institutions, governments, companies and operators a wide range of space
solutions – satellites, ground segments, end-to-end-systems – for telecommunications, satellite navigation,
earth observation, science and space exploration.
The Group has been a strategic partner of the Argentine Space Program, providing critical components for satellites manufactured in the country.
The company has provided the integration of the communications payload for the Argentine satellites Arsat 1, which covers Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, and part of Bolivia, and the satellite Arsat 2, whose coverage area extends from North America to South America.

Cyber & Digital

leading companies and governments in 180 countries trust the Group to secure people’s and objects’ identities, personal and
sensitive data and their most critical applications.
- General-purpose Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) from Thales are used in Argentina, as well as in Paraguay and Uruguay for digital signature solutions, electronic invoicing, and document signing.
- The company provides document readers, document verification software, and the tablets used by Argentine Immigration at various border control points throughout the country.
- Thales is also supplier of the front and back covers (eCover) for the Argentine electronic passport, which is issued by the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER).
