NAVAL ELECTRONIC WARFARE FEATURES

In a congested environment, Radar Electronic Support Measures (R-ESM) able to simultaneously detect and identify multiple complex radars are crucial for mission success. Operated alone or in a full EW suite, the R-ESM is key for situational awareness, self-protection and intelligence gathering.

Thales offers two compact Electronic Warfare payloads for drones: a RESM sensor for radar detection and a CESM sensor for communications interception. CURCO enhances situational awareness by detecting, intercepting and locating radar signals below and beyond the horizon with advanced digital technology while remaining lightweight and low power. The mini COMINT payload provides passive long-range detection and 3D direction finding of UHF communications with high accuracy and low consumption. Both solutions improve early warning, data persistence, and spectrum analysis capabilities on unmanned platforms.

Electronic Warfare is also, increasingly, about responding. This is instrumental to the concept of layered defence, giving the ability to use soft kill measures like jamming and decoy capacities, as part of the ships defence.
