On April 25, the SARISA drone from Greek SAS Technology successfully fired a Thales 70mm rocket in a trial at the Hellenic MOD’s GDDIA range—the world’s first on this type of platform, marking a major milestone for UCAVs in Close Air Support.

Developed by SAS Technology, SARISA worked in collaboration with Thales Belgium and Hellenic Defense Systems. With Thales’ guided and unguided 70mm rocket capability, SARISA replicates attack helicopter and fighter jet firepower at lower cost and risk.

Equipped with the FZ275 LGR laser-guided rocket, the system provides precise strikes on light armored vehicles, radar stations, and buildings from over 7km away. The success of this test paves the way for further trials, demonstrating SARISA’s full combat potential.
