FlytEDGE is a real, proven, patented, and in-service solution flying today.
FlytEDGE features four back-to-back Crystal Cabin Award winning solutions, including the Pulse Power solution (2022), the Onboard Data Center (2023), the U.I. accessibility suite (2024), and the FlytEDGE platform architecture (2024).
At the heart of FlytEDGE is the Onboard Data Center (ODC), the world’s first and only flying data center. The ODC provides airlines with all the benefits of the cloud, including the fastest time to market, highest system resilience, infinite scalability, and real-time access to important system health and passenger experience data.
The ODC leverages a redundant blade architecture, modeled and built using best practices from the big cloud players on the ground. Each blade has a dedicated purpose, providing FlytEDGE with storage, compute, networking, and power. These blades are self-healing, and redundant in both hardware and in software, resulting in lower maintenance costs and uninterrupted entertainment experiences. The blades are easily upgraded to support evolving airline and passenger needs (e.g., increased storage, Generative AI and Agentic AI apps), ensuring airlines maximize their return on investment for years to come.
Today the ODC’s primary function is to support in-flight entertainment, but in the future it could support non-safety critical use cases, including; improving cargo, catering, cockpit, and maintenance operations.

Optiq by Thales, intelligent 4K high dynamic range (HDR) displays. Optiq features the proprietary Samsung QLED technology to immerse passengers in over a billion colors that stay vibrant even in dynamic lighting conditions. Optiq is designed to meets the needs of passengers now and into the future with two Bluetooth connections and built-in Wi-Fi, which enables pairing of multiple devices simultaneously, including mobile phones, headsets, gaming controllers, or whatever else is to come.
Pulse is a Crystal Cabin award-winning solution that delivers the most power per cubic inch while dynamically allocating power using a patented power management technology. Light in weight and compact in size, Pulse can be installed inside of the seats, giving legroom back to passengers.

Thales boasts a portfolio of best-in-class digital services that enable airlines to dynamically update experiences, make data-driven decisions and gain real-time insights into system health and passenger engagement levels. From increased revenue with the industry’s most advanced advertising solution to exceptional entertainment with Live TV and events streamed to the aircraft complete with DVR functionality, Thales allows the airline to customize the digital experience to match their brand.
